Remote Jobsite Activities Surge

Multivista’s online construction documentation platform allows project stakeholders to view and share current jobsite conditions from anywhere. Their construction webcam data witnessed a surge in usage as the first in a series of ‘Stay in Place’ [SIP] orders were implemented in the United States. Usage in the week of March 16 increased by 16% over the previous week and increased steadily by 41% overall in subsequent weeks as SIP orders expanded across the country. The increase in construction webcam usage has since leveled out and has witnessed minor changes week over week, with post-COVID-19 usage rates remaining 40% higher than pre-COVID-19 usage. Physical distancing, travel restrictions and jobsite closures have increased the reliance of online monitoring as a means to continue the management of projects and to ensure the health and safety of employees.
