Q: How/Why was Multivista founded?
A: Founding partner and current Multivista President and CEO Luis Pascual previously worked as an electrician in the construction industry. As an electrician, he was faced with challenges resulting from the fact that once the drywall goes up in a building, there is no way to see exactly what is inside the walls. The inability to see behind the drywall gave rise to the need for expensive destructive testing in order to identify, verify and correct issues involving the interior systems and anything placed within or through the walls. He came to the realization that much of the guess-work and destructive testing was avoidable – that capturing the exact state of a construction project in photographs at various points in time would provide a view into the walls that could be used to locate and identify problems or, at the very least, provide a visual roadmap for testing.

Graham Twigg, another founding partner of Multivista and current Chief Technical Officer, envisioned a system in which these photographs could be linked to their exact corresponding locations on the blueprints or floorplans of a project, creating a complete, indexed, visual record of the project throughout construction progress. Mr. Pascual and Mr. Twigg combined their visions, efforts and expertise to create the Multivista Documentation Software system, applying the concept of complete visual documentation to all aspects and stages of the construction process – from the footings and foundation to the finishings and fixtures.
