ROI Examples from our Clients
Multivista serves a purpose for everyone, including Developers, Project Managers, Contractors, Architects, Investors, Lenders, Attorneys and Risk Management professionals.
Consider the following examples in which Multivista’s Exact Built® System was not only cost effective, but put the responsibility where it belonged.
“We became aware of Multivista through various contractors we work with and directly connected with Multivista prior to embarking on the construction of a new $25 million project. The project is a multi-purpose building complete with office space, residential units, and large assemblies, and since we knew it was going to be complicated, we wanted to be able to track the construction work as it was completed. This would allow us to provide quality control with both the architects and designers. We initially started with a Multivista documentation program that included exterior progression shots, but incorporated interior progressions shortly thereafter.
During the project, there were a few occasions when we were challenged by the client as to whether the building was completed as per design. With Multivista’s detailed photos, we were able to clearly demonstrate not only that the construction was completed properly, but that it was completed per the drawings and specifications. We also know the contractor used the data from Multivista as part of their ongoing quality control with sub-trades. In a second instance, we knew the contractor was significantly behind schedule for a number of reasons. Once a delay claim was advanced, we used Multivista’s photo documentation to assist with negotiations which resulted in a more efficient settlement of the delay claim. Multivista’s construction photos have saved the project an estimated $100,000 so far.
On a completely different project, we were also able to successfully negotiate a significant delay claim using Multivista’s detailed construction data.
Although I was initially skeptical of the value Multivista brings to a project, I now believe it is a very valuable tool for everyone involved in complex construction projects.”

“Since 2008, we have benefited from using Multivista on 5 separate projects. Multivista consistently helps our projects avoid cost overruns that typically come up with renovations. Besides managing millions of square feet of space, as VP of Facilities, my responsibilities also include maintenance, construction, and budgeting. With every new renovation project I ensure that Multivista is a budgeted component of each. Multivista consistently helps our projects avoid cost overruns that typically come up with renovations.
Multivista allows us to see behind walls, ceilings, and even slabs to eliminate many unforeseen conditions and costs. Multivista recently saved me approximately $100,000 by enabling me to locate several in-slab utilities. During another renovation, we installed patient monitors in 556 patient rooms and Multivista enabled us to see behind every patient room wall ensuring we were not hitting anything critical and installing the mounts in the safest and most cost effective locations. With this project, Multivista also saved us upwards of $100,000.
Multivista is an essential tool in my tool box. It allows me do my business better and I plan on working with Multivista on all our future projects.”

“We are approaching the completion of a residential high-rise project on which Multivista has saved us at least $75,000 to date. Rather than using a Ground Penetrating Radar machine at a cost of $26,000, we were able to use the Multivista documentation to determine if and where we could core sleeves for additional MEPs without hitting the post tension cables or existing MEP in the slab.
The detailed photos also gave us the information needed to effectively avoid remediation costs of approximately $50,000 when we had to repair a drainage pipe in the slab on grade. The remediation work would have included excavation, repair to waterproofing, repair or replacement of P/T cables, etc. The documentation was again utilized during the installation of railings and screwing in of the window panes. For example, the photos helped us avoid piercing cables in the deck slabs, which if occurred would have cost an estimated $2500 per cable to repair or replace.”

200% Return on Investment
“We just completed our first project using Multivista to visually document the build process from beginning to end and the service helped our project in multiple ways. In particular, the as-build progression photos saved us on numerous occasions from having to cut holes in or remove drywall. For example, the photos were used by the electrician when the time came to add extra outlets and wires throughout the house at the owner’s request, thereby eliminating unnecessary work. In one instance alone, we gained a 200% return on our investment in Multivista – a sound investment decision.”

“We manage multiple remote projects throughout North America and have been utilizing Multivista documentation on all of our projects for the past two years. We were recently asked by an inspector to verify the installation of 53 valves already covered by paint and drywall.
Using Multivista we were able to look inside every wall without having to perform any unnecessary destructive verification.
We estimate that Multivista saved us over $53,000 on this one issue alone. Considering what we paid for Multivista, we have already benefited substantially from their service.”
– Elizabeth Liles Mann, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Project Manager, Design & Construction
“One example of the benefits that Multivista brought for saving time and money was we had numerous changes on our West Kendall project and probably half a dozen of them were able to be addressed very quickly by going back to the photo documentation. In just one example, with our electrician there was a dispute about the scope of the work and how much work went into making a change.
In just that one change order alone, we were able to negate $80,000 worth of value just by using Multivista.”

Claim Resolved in Minutes
“During the early stages of construction of Metairie Manor, we had a lady who lived in a neighboring apartment complex make a claim. She took a pre-existing condition, which was a crack in her wall, and tried to claim our pile driving caused it. We used a pre-existing conditions photo that was taken by Multivista to put this to bed immediately. We are ecstatic about this service. The claim was resolved within minutes of arising.
Additionally, we had to core slabs for misplaced thimbles, we did not want to hit any post tension cables, they are tensioned to 5,000 pounds each. I was able to check the pictures Multivista provided to pinpoint the exact locations of post tension cables, and adjust the new corings so they would not hit any cables. A damaged cable costs $3,500 to fix and the Multivista pictures allowed us to not hit any!”

The owner of a large mixed-use development estimated that one day of delays cost over $12,000.
They further estimated that major change orders often result in 1-2 lost days awaiting feedback from the client, architect, and sub-contractors
They calculated that the remote access feature of Multivista and the detailed level of coverage saved them several weeks worth of such delays of the life of the project – putting the savings for this application alone at a hundred thousand dollars!
The client searched their hospital project’s online construction documentation portal to diagnose why ADA handrails were falling off the walls. By referencing Multivista’s Exact-Built® construction record, the client was able to determine the cause of the issue and get it repaired without invasive, time-consuming destructive testing.
A savings of more than $200,000 for destructive testing and repair was realized by using Multivista. In addition, the client concluded that the savings per occurrence for each defective bathroom was between $150 and $550, and saved as many as 9 work hours.
The client discovered that an electrical outlet was missing on this wall. Utilizing Multivista, the client was able to review the construction process to identify where to place blame for this deficiency.
Multivista’s Interior Progression and MEP Exact-Built® shoots provided client access to the exact construction process to verify that an outlet box was installed. The client saved over 9 hours and hundreds of dollars evaluating and resolving this issue.
Several windows started leaking post-occupancy on a building with 126 windows on just one face of the building alone. Multivista captures the external systems with our Elevation Exact-Built®.
Using Multivista, the contractor was able to review each window without destructive testing to determine the windows out of compliance.
The client credited Multivista for saving them 8 hours and over $600 per window in need of repair. In addition, they calculated a savings of nearly $1400 per window not tested by destructive testing.
“During construction of a recent project, we found Multivista very useful in determining construction compliance. Multivista directly assisted us in viewing improper, concealed construction; the result was a $40,000 credit to the owner.”

On a student housing project, an owner written spec called for insulation on all vertical copper piping to protect an expensive finish used on the interior walls.
But as the project neared completion, a member of the build team found that a section of copper piping was missing the specified insulation.
Using Multivista’s online platform, the owner and his team were able to go through the project and discover whether the missing insulation was isolated to a single area or systemic. It was quickly discovered that the insulation was not used on any of the copper piping project-wide.
The owner received an immediate credit for all insulating material purchased but never used during the build, and mitigated additional costs by avoiding destructive testing.
